Vatel Bahrain Marks National Day 2024

with Cultural Celebrations

Return

In honour of Bahrain’s National Day and the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s reign, Vatel Hospitality & Tourism Business School hosted a vibrant cultural event. The event celebrated national pride and showcased Bahrain’s rich heritage alongside the diversity of its international community. Students, faculty, alumni, and many international students, particularly from France, attended the event. Guests were treated to a thoughtfully curated cultural activity programme to highlight Bahrain's unique traditions and history.

In his address, Shaikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, extended heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of Bahrain’s National Day. He expressed his warm regards to the people of Bahrain, praying for continued prosperity and progress under the Kingdom’s wise leadership, and commended the nation’s remarkable achievements as a source of pride and inspiration for all.

He stated that the event went beyond just a celebration, reaffirming national pride in Bahrain’s achievements and its ongoing journey of excellence. He reiterated the college’s steadfast commitment to advancing the hospitality and education sectors by cultivating skilled professionals and strengthening its reputation locally and internationally.

He underscored the significance of promoting national identity by preserving and presenting Bahrain’s traditional customs and traditions. Such celebrations, he noted, offer a platform to introduce international students—especially those from France—to Bahrain’s rich cultural heritage, fostering mutual understanding and cultural dialogue.

The programme featured diverse cultural and artistic activities that captured the essence of Bahraini heritage. Among the highlights was the traditional Bahraini “Ardha” performance, which mesmerised the audience and created an atmosphere of engagement and excitement.

Interactive elements of the event included poetry recitals, celebrating Bahrain’s history and inspiring a deep sense of belonging and pride. Students also participated in hands-on activities such as pottery painting, henna application, and a planting initiative that combined heritage with environmental awareness. A traditional costume competition, where students showcased exquisite Bahraini attire, added a lively and competitive spirit, with participants competing for prizes.

The generous support of the college’s valued partners—Downtown Rotana Hotel, Onyx Rotana Hotel Bahrain, and Fraser Suites in the Diplomatic Area—further elevated the event. These partners contributed to the celebratory atmosphere by organising special prize draws, which delighted attendees.

International participants, particularly French students, expressed gratitude for the college’s efforts to provide an enriching experience. They praised the event for seamlessly blending cultural learning with entertainment, offering a deeper appreciation of Bahraini traditions.
